Information
for Journalists
The Defined Withdrawals strategy
was developed by the father and son team of Roger and Kevin
Katzenmaier. In the early '90s the pair never dreamed of
selling software or seminar products. Kevin an engineer, and
Roger a CPA, were simply experimenting with some algorithms that
Roger would later use with his clients. The resulting
software, originally titled the Investment Scenario Generator or
ISG, proved so
helpful to Roger's clients that they licensed the algorithm to
Brentmark Software. It was made commercially available with an
accompanying book in 1996. The product was later upgraded and
renamed the Retirement Income Navigator in 2003.
| We
will be happy to send journalists in the US a copy of our Managing Money During
Retirement with Defined Withdrawals
presentation. This is our best summary of the
topic. Simply fill out the form below to request a free
copy. The presentation begins
with some striking examples to explain why managing money during
retirement is so much more difficult than managing money before
retirement. It then describes the common strategies and their
shortcomings. The Defined Withdrawals strategy is explained
along with the critically important topic of Navigating.

But don't forget to also check out our
free Practice Navigator Excel
spreadsheet. Unlike other hands-off Monte Carlo
investment income calculators, Practice
Navigator allows the
user to make annual investment decisions to better simulate the
real-life challenge of maintaining steady investment income while
investing in unsteady financial markets.
With over 70 million baby
boomers on the brink of retirement, there has been
surprisingly little in-depth discussion about how they should manage
their investments for steady, dependable, and long-term
income. The Defined Withdrawals strategy fills this critically
important gap in modern-day retirement planning theory.
